Companion Home Care recently joined host Chris Conner on his show Mountain Mornings, which airs live on Roanoke’s The Mountain 102.5 FM from 6am to 12pm. Companion Home Care was represented by owner Michelle Belton, CDP, CAEd, DCP, and long-time Companion Home Care employee Melissa Anderson, both of Roanoke, VA.
My home care client, Christopher, lost his father, Charlie, a few months ago, and since then a lot has changed. For Christopher, change isn’t always the easiest to cope with. Thank goodness he has a good team & family to help him through it. We also took care of Charlie until his passing. My client hasn't said much about his feelings since.
I looked around at the other clients of the program. Of course, I am searching for those that are, "worse off" in abilities and trying to assuage my hesitancy about this situation. I see a very young lady, possibly middle to late teens, controlling her motorized wheelchair over into the mounting area near a horse. She's very slight of build with long braids. I can hear her bantering in a small but excited voice with the therapy instructors.
