A Caregiver’s Tribute to Mr. Charlie Lemon

My home care client, Christopher, lost his father, Charlie, a few months ago, and since then a lot has changed. For Christopher, change isn’t always the easiest to cope with. Thank goodness he has a good team & family to help him through it. We also took care of Charlie until his passing. My client hasn't said much about his feelings since.
At breakfast this morning, I fixed Christopher a "great cup of coffee" (so he says lol) and we talked about how much Charlie would have enjoyed it as well. He said finally, "I miss my dad" and it broke my heart. For him to be so vulnerable to his "caregiver" means so much to me.
I'm literally sobbing over this picture because of how much we all truly miss our Charlie and miss making his coffee.. So much has changed and so much time has passed, but he is still here in spirit, in these moments that mean the most.
