Companion Home Care Attends US Navy Band Concert in Downtown Roanoke, VA
On August 29, 2018, the United States Navy Band's nationally renowned bluegrass ensemble, Country Current, performed a free live concert in downtown Roanoke's outdoor Elmwood Park amphitheater.
Companion Home Care Inc was represented at the concert by owner Michelle Belton, CDP, CAEd, and her client Pattrick Ryan, both from Roanoke, VA.
The United States Navy Band Country Current is the Navy's premier country-bluegrass ensemble. The group is nationally renowned for its versatility and musicianship, performing a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass. This seven-member ensemble employs musicians from diverse backgrounds with extensive high-profile recording and touring experience in the music scenes of Nashville, New York, New Orleans and more.
The band utilizes banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drum set. In the tradition of country music, each member is a skilled performer on multiple instruments.
The Elmwood Park concert featured a 75-minute performance as well as food and beverages from local Roanoke area vendors.
"Pattrick and I had a blast at the concert. I encourage our caregivers to take our home care clients on fun outings like this. Aging and/or living with a disability does not have to be boring," said Belton, who is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and Certified Alzheimer Educator (CAEd).
Belton has been providing home care for seniors and adults with disabilities in Roanoke since 2004, specializing in home care for seniors and elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The event was hosted by PLAY Roanoke, an initiative by the Roanoke Department of Parks and Recreation. For more information and to view upcoming events, visit https://www.playroanoke.com.
